Illinois PPE Network Updates

A few articles were published this week referencing our work:

Forbes by Pete Wilkins – Chicago Is Uniting For The Greater Good

Chicago Tribune by Nina Metz – Chicago company Hero Solutions makes like its name in being part of local efforts to make face shields for medical workers

We’ve spent about 90% of the funding we’ve received already to fabricate, by mid-May, over 100,000 face shields. We’re making a big push into fabricating face masks across the state now, and can use your help.

Here’s an update from the group I’m helping run down in Mokena, IL:

“I live in a tiny suburb called Mokena, and in addition to helping lead the Illinois PPE Network, have been running our own south suburban group for the network. Last week, my wife Sarah Margalus and I hatched a plan to get sewing materials and equipment into the hands of Mokena Junior High students to make face masks and headbands for healthcare workers, first responders, and their friends, family, and neighbors.

Yesterday, phase one of that began. We have 15 sewing machines and implements that we are handing out to people in the area, and a LOT of fabric. All of this paid for by people like you and me.”
